I dont like to claim my talents as my own.
I consider myself the vessel for the creativness i have been allowed to build and extpress, and believe in my heart of hearts that i was given these talents as a gift.
I believe in a higher power.
I am a Christian, and believe my talents (gifts to me) were handed to me by my Higher Power, which i call God.
I know not everyone will subscribe to this same point of view.
But it is part of the thing that makes me...who i am.
I tell you this, so you can have a better understanding if me, who i am, why i feel this way, and why i may express this talent in such terms.
Theres a story in the bible.
About talents. And i wanted to share it.
Put a modern spin on it, same story, less "churchy".
There was a certain employer.
He had 3 employees who he was paying loans out to.
The first employee recieved his check for a 500.00 loan and turned around, and invested it.
The second employee got a check for a 200.00 loan turned around and invested it.
The 3rd employee, also was paid, according to his time , and received a 100.00 loam And took his check, and hid it away.
The employer leaves. And also returns at a later time.
When he comes back he meets with each employee. Asks for his loans back.
1st employee returns him 1000.00.
Employer says to the employee:" well done! employee!"
To which the employer alows him to keep the 500.00 he had made.
Employer says to the employee:" well done! employee!"
To which the employer alows him to keep the 500.00 he had made.
2nd employee hands the employer 400.00,
Employer says to the employee:" well done! employee!"
and the employer hands back 200.00 the employee made in his investment.
Employer says to the employee:" well done! employee!"
and the employer hands back 200.00 the employee made in his investment.
3rd employee hands over his original 100.00.
Employer asks why it wasnt any more than it was to start...
Employee states he was afraid it wouldnt be much, because of the economy, and the employers business, so he kept it, hidden.
The employer isnt happy about the fact that it wasnt increased.
And sends the employee away...empty handed.
The moral of the story is,
We all have a talent.
We should use them, and share them.
So it is, i use mine, and share it.
This blog is about my crochet work i do.
A gift ive been given.
Little background story....
Ive not always crocheted. And not anywhere near as good as i have been in the last few years.
My ex husbands mother taught him to crochet. And when i was pregnant with our only child, i wanted to make our baby something special.
So my ex tells me he can teach me to crochet.
I thought he was kidding!
(This next part will sound sexist, please forgive me)
I questioned it, because hes..a guy.
Put him to the test.
We went out, bought a crochet needle, some yarn, and he sat down...and...he crocheted!!!!
Well, since i could see he wasnt lying, i had him teach me. And i worked my project for a long while.
And it came out....
Lopsided..lol
Ive improved over the past 21 years.
I make all kinds of things.
For many different reasons.
Mostly, because it makes ppl happy.
Its a gift.
Im to share it.
Thank you for reading my blog.
